Promoting science literacy builds students' capacity to understand important concepts in the natural and ever-changing technological world. Science literacy relies on the synergy between reading and writing; therefore, students must be able to decipher the language of science in order to be healthy and conscious citizens. As a result, here at Oliver Street School, we are working diligently to prepare students to be well rounded and diverse 21st century learners in the area of science and beyond

Science Literacy@OLIVER
Every class is a reading class!!! Therefore, this blog will provide students with a social and innovative way to read and learn about science. Students can participate in this private forum by expressing their ideas, concerns and interest. Students will also have access to hard copies of articles; therefore, they have a CHOICE in deciding how they partipate. The scope of the science readings will primarily cover life, earth, and physical science. This BLOG will serve as an extension and interdisciplinary connection to reading and writing.
