Promoting science literacy builds students' capacity to understand important concepts in the natural and ever-changing technological world. Science literacy relies on the synergy between reading and writing; therefore, students must be able to decipher the language of science in order to be healthy and conscious citizens. As a result, here at Oliver Street School, we are working diligently to prepare students to be well rounded and diverse 21st century learners in the area of science and beyond

Students will read articles and answer questions related to the articles. Students are welcomed to express their opinions openly and freely. All comments are moderated by Mrs. Singleton, Science Teacher.
Research an untold miner story and briefly explain the dangers associated with mining. Compare and contrast the recent rescue of Chilean Miners with miners in other parts of the world that are "far less lucky."
