READ: OLDEST GALAXY

Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon famously said, "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."

Explain this famous quote and relate it to the discoveries made in the article.

Why is space exploration and discovery relevant?

  1. I believe that Neil Armstrong is trying to say that he made one little step on the moon but that we the people just made a big discovery in history, by going to the moon!!!

  2. Space is so big we might never know what and where everything is in the universe. But we as humans must try to find out everything we can about sapce. When Neil Armstrong landed on the moon we thought if mankind can land on the moon imagine how far we will get in a couple of years.Thats why I think space is so relevant.Dont you agree?

  3. When Neil Armstrong said “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind” he saying for him it was a small step, but for all of us it was history made. No one has ever gone to the moon and him as the first is life changing.

  4. When Neil Armstrong made his first step on the moon he said, and I quote ‘That’s one small step for man, one giant step for mankind.’ I believe that this means for Armstrong it’s just something that he can’t believe, but for the planet back home its unimaginable because it took so much work that nobody could believe. In the future we will be able to do things that people thought gods created. And in the story scientist can now see new galaxies which back than nobody knew what it was, so we have now made an even bigger leap.

  5. Space exploration is very relevant because as we gain new technology and know there are things in space we don’t understand or have the information on. Since we can’t stop the curiosity all we humans have, so we associate seeing an old galaxy that was forgotten as very interesting to us. But more informative then we remember since we can study it more with the advance technology that our laboratories have.

  6. When Neil Armstrong said “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind” he meant that for him it was a small step, but for all of us it was history being made. No one had ever gone to the moon and for him as the first man on the moon, was life changing and unimaginable at the time.

  7. Space exploration and new discoveries are very relevant because we know very little about moon and other planets only from Earth. Astronauts help us understand outer space. This is why Neil Armstrong being the first person on the moon was important. His famous quote “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for a mankind” means to me that being the first astronaut to the moon was a great accomplishment.

  8. Neil Armstrong once said,”that’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind." For him it was a “small” step. However, for all the future generations to come it would be a HUGE leap. I believe this because he was the first person to set foot on the moon, now because of his accomplishment we have the ability to explore the moon and even other planets. This can really benefit us in a number of ways. If we search long enough we might even find another planet with life. Space is an endless pool of undiscovered things. You never know if maybe, just maybe the rocks from mars or any other planet can cure cancer.
